Anansi Brothers by Neil Gaiman, part 2
Finished reading this book a few weeks ago now - sorry!
Ultimately, it was a good book.
One of the things I love about Neil Gaiman books are the layers. You think he has wandered off the point when, with a gentle toe nudge, you understand why the story is being told the way it has been told.
Strong Caribbean folkloric theme crossed with London slightly geeky urban culture. It makes for an interesting mix.

@@@@ = really really good. sucks you in; leaves you dry and wanting more.
@@@ = good. worth recommending to others. will keep you interested while you read it; you might even be inclined to try the next book in the series, although you're not sure about purchasing the entire box set. yet.
@@ = ok. just ok. readable but somehow no deeper connection. you'll probably finish it, but just as probably you won't be able to describe the storyline a month later.
@ = ugh. bad purchase. disappointing installment by a favourite author. either way ... avoid. or wait until it's available in the library so at least you're not wasting money on it.
